Missouri Sports Hall of Fame announces annual women’s honorees

Former Missouri State women’s basketball coach Cheryl Burnett and her 1992 and 2001 Final Four teams will be honored as part of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s second annual Women in Sports Luncheon next month in Springfield.

Burnett, who has been chosen by the hall as a “Missouri Sports Legend,” will be inducted alongside her former players as well as Cathy Reynolds, a LPGA Tour member from Springfield, and Patti Phillips, the CEO of the Kansas City-based National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators. Phillips also directed the Women’s Intersport Network, also known as WIN for KC.

The luncheon is schedule for 11 a.m. March 23 at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center in Springfield. Individual tickets are $40, and sponsorship tables of eight can be reserved by calling 417-889-3100.
