The best of NCAA Division I women’s soccer will be in action at CPKC Stadium on Dec. 5 and Dec. 8. This year marks the first time in the championship’s history that it will be played in Kansas City. It is also the first time that the championship has been held at a stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team.

“The Women’s College Cup continues to showcase Kansas City as a premiere soccer destination in the U.S. We’re honored to welcome the best student-athletes at the collegiate level to our city and show them what makes this the ‘Soccer Capital’ of America. For the women’s championship to be held at a purpose-built women’s stadium also emphasizes our passion and ambition to move women’s sports forward in our community and on a national stage,” says Kathy Nelson, President and CEO of the Kansas City Sports Commission and Visit KC.

“Kansas City presents a unique opportunity to show our student-athletes the advancements and opportunities that have opened within women’s sports. To play at a purpose-built stadium for women is a special thing, along with playing in front of a community that is passionate about soccer,” says Jackie Wallgren, chair of the Division I Women’s Soccer Oversight Committee.
