Mike Parson’s COVID-19 diagnosis rockets through Missouri, upending race for governor
News that Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19 rocketed through the state’s political establishment Wednesday.
Both are said to be under quarantine. A planned debate with Nicole Galloway has been postponed.
While politicians on both sides of the aisle are wishing the governor luck in his fight against the illness, there’s already discussion of what the tests mean for the 2020 governor’s race.
On this edition of “4Star Politics,” reporter Jason Hancock joins St. Louis consultant Rosetta Okohson to talk about the politics of the coronavirus in Missouri — including a discussion of a canceled debate and other restrictions caused by the illness.
The program also features a discussion with Rick Hasen, a nationally-known law professor and author, and David Achtenberg, a law professor at UMKC, about the Supreme Court vacancy, and problems with voting across the country in the closing days of the election.
“4Star Politics” is hosted by John Holt of Fox 4 Kansas City, and Dave Helling of the Star’s Editorial Board.
