I understand Chiefs fans who booed. They are tired and just want to forget

Wanted to forget

You have been shut up with no place to go, and everything on TV is all about the rioting, the looting, the killing. Can’t go there — it’s closed. Wear a mask. You even get it in church.

And all you want is some relief. You just want to go someplace to be entertained without having to listen to the same thing that you have been hearing every day for a very long time. You know you love your neighbor, and you want things to be better, but you just want to go and enjoy yourself for once.

Then even when you go to a football game, it is the same thing. We are just so tired, and for a couple of hours we want to forget and have fun. I wasn’t at the game, but I understand the people who booed. For a couple of hours, all they wanted was to have some fun that they haven’t had for months, just trying to forget. Is that so wrong?

We’ve heard it

Legendary journalist Bob Woodward’s new book “Rage” revealed that President Donald Trump knew as early as Feb. 7 that the coronavirus was airborne, dangerous and highly contagious.

Even though Trump knew the virus was deadly, he downplayed the threat and severity to the public.

While Trump was covering up the lethality of the virus, he called criticism of his reaction a hoax, failed to institute a uniform mask mandate and held large campaign rallies without social distancing.

Trump’s cowardly lies dramatically amplified the magnitude of this health crisis. He has blood on his hands.

Trump should resign or be held accountable Nov. 3. His abject failure to protect American citizens was a stark dereliction of duty.
