Letters: KC readers discuss Marshall, Moran, sanctuary cities and Aaron Coleman
What priorities?
It has been seven months since the coronavirus reached our shores, and we still do not have a national strategy for testing or treatment. Obscene amounts of taxpayer money were wasted because states were bidding against one another for protective equipment and supplies.
Republicans have spent 10 years trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, and they still have no plan for a replacement system. There is still no legislation to authorize Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, which would drive drug prices lower across the board. Bills the House of Representatives has passed languish in the graveyard of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s inbox.
We have credible intelligence that Russia has offered the Taliban bounties to kill American soldiers, yet not a single congressional Republican has spoken out meaningfully about that.
The GOP is equally silent in the face of measures to undermine the U.S. Postal Service, upon which so many seniors and veterans depend for their prescriptions. These citizens apparently are regarded as collateral damage in the effort to prevent or delay mail-in voting.
Meanwhile, a political action committee aligned with Senate candidate Roger Marshall and his new BFF, Sen. Jerry Moran, is running TV ads shrieking about immigration and sanctuary cities. Give me a break.

If what I read about Kansas House candidate Aaron Coleman is true, I have one question: Who raised this sexist toad? Because his contempt and hatred for women didn’t come from nowhere. He was carefully taught and groomed.
