Letters: KC readers discuss Thiessen on torture, swamp creatures and OP lawlessness
Torture OK?
Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen, a former George W. Bush speechwriter, defended the use of waterboarding, which he said did not quality as a technique of torture. That should tell you all you need to know about Thiessen — but wait, there’s more. He also can’t get enough of the crimes of President Donald Trump, whether high or low, and wants to see that tawdry excuse for a human being have four more years in which to wreak havoc on this nation.
And so I say, no thanks to any more of either of them.

Another creature
Can someone tell me why, if Washington, D.C., is considered such a loathsome swamp, so many people are spending so much money to run so many ads so they can be elected to go swim in that swamp?
- Mike Cunningham, Kansas City
Scofflaws abound
I never knew it until now, but my neighborhood is a hub of criminal activity. Every day, several miscreants willingly break the law and walk in the street even though there is a sidewalk. The horror! (July 31, 11A, “Why this Black Lives Matter protest went bad”)
I can only hope the police are following this crime spree and will crack down on these evildoers before it’s too late.
