Letters: Readers discuss Tony Gonzalez, the 1969 Super Bowl and Chiefs over Texans
I believe it
“Simply incredible” was a poor choice for the headline on Monday’s front page to describe the Chiefs’ win over the Texans, because the Chiefs’ win was nothing short of credible.
A better headline would have been, “A stunning victory.”

Give him glory
When, not if, the Chiefs play in the Super Bowl, is there any way they could re-sign Tony Gonzalez so that Patrick Mahomes could throw him a touchdown pass? I understand the years are filled with Chiefs players who didn’t get to the big game, but it’s always seemed particularly sad that someone as deserving as Gonzales never got to play there.
With all the touchdowns we’re going to score, couldn’t one of them go to Tony?

A Chiefs great
Vahe Gregorian wrote a nice “then and now” column Sunday about the comparisons between the 1969 Super Bowl-winning Chiefs and today’s players and staff. (4CC, “Chiefs have golden opportunity to reach 1st Super Bowl in 50 years”)
One of the coaches who was with the Chiefs for both Super Bowls I and IV, Darrel “Pete” Brewster, passed away just a few days ago. (Jan. 8, 9A, “Remembrances”) He should be remembered and honored.
