Letter of the week: Outfit politicians like NASCAR drivers
Outfit politicians like NASCAR drivers
We know there is too much money in politics, and it is a lot worse since the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are like people and can donate an unlimited amount of money to buy any politician. And make no mistake about it, they are for sale.
We know these legal bribes will never stop because the politicians taking these bribes make all the rules. There is no easy solution, so why not make this system a lot more transparent?
Let’s make every politician wear a uniform like NASCAR drivers. When these politicians get money from any individual or corporation, they would have to wear a corresponding company logo.
These new NASCAR-type uniforms would not stop the problem with money in politics, but at least we would know who our politicians are actually working for.
Richard Kessler, of Dunnegan, Mo., is a semi-retired truck driver. He was born in Harvey, N.D., went to school in California and has lived in Missouri about 35 years.
