Letter of the week: President Obama’s progress
President Obama’s progress
Count me among the 33 percent who some say are from “another universe” still approving of President Barack Obama’s, not dismal, but obstructed and denied performance. I voted for Obama, twice, seizing an opportunity to put my money where my mouth is and to be part of turning the warship of the previous administration toward home.
Unlike the “rational” Americans, I hoped for a period of healing and improving opportunities for the vast majority who felt the neglect and disdain of the recent past.
I think if we crumble internally by ignoring America’s interests, all of the American people and our basic human needs, we will lose our appealing stature and be reduced to another fading empire, feared and then forgotten.
I voted for peace and prosperity. I think President Obama has been dedicated and heroic, considering the odds.
