A record audience estimated at more than 24 million people tuned in for the GOP presidential debate Thursday night on Fox News. That’s positive news for the political process in America.

As more people get to know the candidates, the more informed choices they will make in the 2016 primaries and, eventually, the general election next November. At least that’s the hope.

With the first entertaining Republican debate now over, and the next one looming Sept. 16, the interest in what the candidates are saying isn’t likely to wane soon.
