The Star’s recommendations in major races in Tuesday’s elections

Remember to go out and exercise your right to vote Tuesday. The Associated Press

A roundup of The Star’s endorsements in important races:

President: Hillary Clinton, Democrat, is one of the most accomplished candidates for president in modern history. Her even temperament, extensive foreign policy experience and solid decision-making skills prove she is the clear and unambiguous choice in this fractious contest.

U.S. Senate for Missouri: Roy Blunt, Republican, boasts a resume of more than 30 years in Missouri politics. His Democratic challenger is a dynamic new voice, but Blunt’s lengthy track record of working for the people of his state makes him the right selection.

U.S. Senate for Kansas: Jerry Moran, Republican, deserves a second term. He has joined some of his GOP colleagues in shameful obstructionist stances, such as refusing to consider President Barack Obama’s pick for the U.S. Supreme Court. But he has maintained a strong presence back home and sometimes shows an admirable willingness to reach across the aisle.

U.S. House of Representatives for Missouri’s 5th District: Emanuel Cleaver, Democrat.

U.S. House of Representatives for Missouri’s 6th District: Sam Graves, Republican.

U.S. House of Representatives for Kansas’ 2nd District: Britani Potter, Democrat.

U.S. House of Representatives for Kansas’ 3rd District: Kevin Yoder, Republican.

Missouri Governor: Chris Koster, Democrat, is a former Republican who switched parties to run for attorney general. He sees the value in bipartisan solutions to important issues facing the state, such as education funding and deteriorating infrastructure. He believes fiscal conservatism can peacefully coexist with social tolerance.

Missouri Lieutenant Governor: Russ Carnahan, Democrat.

Missouri Secretary of State: Jay Ashcroft, Republican.

Missouri Treasurer: Eric Schmitt, Republican.

Missouri Attorney General: Josh Hawley, Republican.

Missouri District 7: Jason Holsman, Democrat.

Missouri District 11: Brent Lasater, Republican.

Missouri District 17: Ryan Silvey, Republican.
