Billy Butler will stay at first base as the Royals face the Athletics for the second baseball game of this series at O.co Coliseum. Salvador Perez will be the designated hitter, and Erik Kratz will make his first start for Kansas City.

The day before, manager Ned Yost worried about potentially losing the DH spot if an injury happened to Kratz. But he is willing to gamble, rather than expose Perez to extended action at first.
