While the cord-cutting trend appears to be continuing, so does another trend: Fans tuning to Royals games on Fox Sports Kansas City.

The Royals on Wednesday set another FSKC viewing record, as their game against the Rays had an average 17.8 rating (160,000 households), according to Nielsen Media Research. That came one day after the Royals set a record with a 17.6 rating.

FSKC said its rating during Wednesday’s game topped the combined rating of Kansas City’s ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox affiliates (12.8).

That rating for FSKC doesn’t include those who stream the game, which became available for the first time this season.

A year ago, the Royals’ averaged a 12.3 rating on Fox Sports Kansas City, which was the highest for a regional sports network in baseball. This year’s average, through Tuesday’s game, was slightly better at 12.4.
