All three Royals-Tigers games this week at Kauffman Stadium start at 6:15 p.m.
If you plan to watch the Royals this week, either at Kauffman Stadium or on television, there will be early start times for some games.
The three games against the Detroit Tigers all start at 6:15 p.m. Those games are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The start times for those games are earlier because school is in session. The Royals’ home games that are played on Monday through Thursday in September also will begin at 6:15 p.m.
From May to August, the weekday games will be at 7:15 p.m., unless they are regularly scheduled day games. Those begin at 1:15 p.m.
“We’ve been talking about it for a couple of years and we decided to pull the trigger on it this year,” said Toby Cook, the Royals’ vice president of publicity. “We’ve just heard feedback from people who say, ‘We’d love to go to some of these games, but we just can’t because of school.’ ”
Cook said the gates to the stadium will open at 5 p.m., except the Outfield Experience, which opens at 4:30 p.m. The parking lots will open around 3 p.m.
The first two games are on Fox Sports Kansas City and Thursday's game is on FS1.
