The entrance to the Royals’ clubhouse got a championship upgrade in the offseason.

Raised cutouts of the Commissioners’ Trophy with the years 1985 and 2015 and the American League championship trophy with the years 1980, 1985, 2014 and 2015 have been affixed to one wall.

Inside the clubhouse is a similar image of the World Series trophy.

Edinson Volquez didn’t initially notice it as he walked past, then he stopped to admire it ... and said, “Wow!”

Another wall is covered with photos of the team’s on-field 2015 World Series celebration at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y., and the crowd at the Royals’ parade and rally at Union Station.
