A day after allowing a six-run outburst, Royals rookie Donnie Joseph is headed back to the minors. The Royals recalled right-handed reliever Louis Coleman on Tuesday afternoon and optioned Joseph to Class AAA Omaha.

This will be Coleman’s second crack in the majors this season. He was disastrous during a17-game stint earlier this year, posting a 6.27 ERA and walking 5.3 batters per nine innings.

The Royals demoted him on June. Manager Ned Yost stressed Coleman needed to refine his command, as the club considered him a useful piece for this summer.

In five appearances for Omaha, Coleman struck out 10 and walked just one batter.
