Aaron Brooks wins in return to Omaha
Aaron Brooks made his first start for Class AAA Omaha since his latest stint with the Royals and got the win Wednesday as the Storm Chasers won 6-3 at Round Rock.
Brooks allowed two runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out five with no walks. He threw 57 strikes and 19 balls. Buddy Baumann gave up an unearned run in 1 1/3 innings, and Spencer Patton got his fifth save by striking out three in 1 1/3 innings.
Brooks made his major-league debut last Saturday against the Tigers at Kauffman Stadium.
The Storm Chasers pounded out 13 hits, and five players had two hits. Second baseman Christian Colon was one of those players and he hit a solo homer and had two RBIs.
Other games• Luke Farrell, 1-3, had his best start of the season, striking out 10 in six innings as Class A Lexington beat Asheville 4-2. Farrell allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and didn’t walk a batter. Luis Santos got his second save by pitching three innings of two-hit scoreless ball. Third baseman Michael Antonio and shortstop Humberto Arteaga each had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
• Class A-Advanced Wilmington had just two hits in a 2-1 loss at Salem. Blue Rocks starter Yender Caramo allowed one run on six hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out one.
