Omaha rolls to 14-1 victory on a night all Royals affiliates win

Six different Storm Chasers had a multi-hit game Thursday night as Class AAA Omaha whipped Round Rock 14-1.

Catcher Jesus Flores had three hits, including a two-run home run and scored three runs. Center fielder Brett Eibner had three hits, including two doubles and walked twice. Second baseman Christian Colon, designated hitter Brian Fletcher, first baseman Matt Fields and shortstop Pedro Ciriaco all had two hits.

Fields, who is batting .423, has hit safely in all 14 Omaha games this season. For the third time in his last eight games, Eibner reached base four times. He is batting .373.

Sugar Ray Marimon struck out seven in four innings. He allowed one run and struck out five. Ramon Troncoso (2 2/3 innings), Donnie Joseph (one inning) and Spencer Patton (1 1/3 innings) combined for five hitless innings.

Other games

• Whit Merrifield hit a three-run homer and Jared Schlehuber added a solo shot as Class AA Northwest Arkansas won 10-6 at Tulsa. It was the Naturals’ third win of the season. Schlehuber, Merrifield and Edinson Rincon all had two hits for Northwest Arkansas. Starter Andy Ferguson got the win after allowing two runs on three hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked two.

• Shortstop Raul Mondesi had a two-run triple in Class A-Advanced Wilmington’s 4-2 win at Lynchburg. Center fielder Bubba Starling doubled and scored, and Hunter Dozier added a sacrifice fly. Jonathan Dziedzic gave up one run on five hits in five innings and improved to 3-0.

• Class A Lexington nearly let victory slip away by allowing three runs in the top of the ninth, but Ramon Torres’ RBI single scored Carlos Garcia with the winning run in a 5-4 victory against Augusta. Garcia walked to open the bottom of the ninth, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored when Torres collected his fourth hit of the game. Legends starter Luis Santos allowed one run on four hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out five.
