Lamb roughed up as Omaha loses big to Memphis

What a difference a day makes. And not in a good way.

Class AAA Omaha was crushed by Memphis 10-1 on Thursday, just one day after the Storm Chasers thumped the Redbirds 20-3.

Left-hander

John Lamb

had a rocky outing, allowing 11 hits, including two home runs and five runs (four earned) in five innings. He struck out four, walked two and hit a batter. Lamb threw 80 pitches and 52 were for strikes.

Donnie Joseph

relieved and also gave up five runs (four earned), only it was in 1 2/3 innings. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out three.

One bright spot was first baseman

Matt Fields

, who was three for three including a double. He also walked and has reached base in eight straight plate appearances. Fields also has hit safely in all eight Omaha games this season.
