Alcides Escobar and Omar Infante set to team together in Royals infield Friday

Alcides Escobar and Omar Infante are scheduled to team together in the infield during a B game on Friday morning at the Royals’ complex. Ramon Hernandez, one of the backup catching options, will play first base in that game. Hernandez has been nursing a sore knee.

Escobar is healthy. He is just re-acclimating to camp after missing several days on paternity leave. Infante sat out to repair the inflammation in his right shoulder. Escobar will return to the Cactus League on Saturday. Infante is not guaranteed to play.

“If he feels good, he’s in the lineup, too,” manager Ned Yost said. “But we’ll just see how he’s feeling. Escobar, for sure. He’s ready.”
