Video: Enhance security screenings in 18th & Vine jazz district | Porter
After a fatal shooting in Kansas City’s 18th & Vine Jazz District on the evening of Juneteenth, Toriano Porter asks the City Council and other stakeholders to step up and hire added security to prevent violence, as Westport did.
Without delay, the City Council must address this oversight by working with the Kansas City Police Department, trusted private security firms and business and property owners in the area to implement enhanced security screenings during the warmer months in and around the historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.
