Video: Why won’t Independence apologize for Maria Pike and Destinii Hope? | Opinion
Why is it so difficult for law enforcement officials or city leaders to simply apologize for taking someone’s life. In Independence, I truly believe the family of Maria Pike and her infant child Destinii Hope deserve as much. In my latest column for The Star, I call on Independence officials to say “sorry” for the actions of former police officers Justin White and Chad Cox that led to Pike and Destinii’s shooting death.
