Royals coach Rusty Kuntz not expected to be with team in Boston
Royals first-base coach Rusty Kuntz is not expected to join the team this weekend in Boston, as he remains ill with a sinus infection.
“He’s feeling better, but still really weak,” manager Ned Yost said before Wednesday’s game against the Reds. “But when we get back home, he should be raring to go.”
In Kuntz’s absence, catching coach Pedro Grifol has manned first base. Grifol developed back spasms earlier in the week, but gutted through the assignment on Tuesday night.
Kuntz experienced dizziness and dehydration on the most recent homestand.
