Tuesday’s Royals-Pirates lineups, pitching probables and TV info
The Royals will look to even the three-game series tonight against the Pittsburgh Pirates after Monday night’s 10-7 loss. Left-hander Jason Vargas (5-2, 4.10 ERA) will make his first start for the Royals since June 8 in his return from the disabled list to heal a strained flexor muscle in his throwing elbow. Gerrit Cole (13-3, 2.30 ERA), a 2015 National League All-Star, gets the ball for the Pirates.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Kansas City.
