Royals prospect Bubba Starling leaves Class AA game on a cart
Outfielder Bubba Starling, one of the Royals’ top prospects, left Class AA Northwest Arkansas’ game on Saturday at Springfield on a cart after hitting the outfield wall while attempting to make a catch.
During a radio broadcast of Saturday’s game, Naturals’ announcer Benjamin Kelly said Starling hit the wall while chasing a ball hit by David Washington.
Starling, who attended Gardner Edgerton High School before being the Royals’ first-round pick in the 2011 draft, lost his glove while trying to rob a home run and landed on his right knee, Kelly said. He added that Starling left the game on a cart.
Starling, 22, hit a home run in the first inning of Saturday’s game.
