The Royals-Rays series opener at Kauffman Stadium is postponed. The teams will play two games on Tuesday, at 1:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.

A heavy downpour started about 5:30 p.m., and drenched the field.

Because of the rain-out, the Royals and Rays will play the first day-night double header at Kauffman Stadium since 2013, and tickets to the postponed game will be honored at the first game on Tuesday, at 1:10 p.m.

But the tickets cannot be used for Tuesday night’s game at 7:10.

The Monday tickets can be exchanged for any home game played on Monday through Thursday until Sept. 9 based on availability, the club said. Tickets to a postponed game cannot be refunded.

For more information call 816-504-4040 or email ticketservices@Royals.com.

Both games on Tuesday are on Fox Sports Kansas City.
