The Royals have recalled infielder Cheslor Cuthbert to replace third baseman Mike Moustakas on the roster. Moustakas left the team for a family emergency on Sunday afternoon. The team placed him on the family emergency/bereavement list on Monday.

Cuthbert, 22, will make his big-league debut on Monday against the Rays. He will play third base and bat eighth. He was hitting .256 with a .708 on-base plus slugging percentage for Class AAA Omaha.

This is the second time in 2015 Moustakas has left the team for an emergency.
