James Shields is impressed with Royals big-game defense
After a division series in which center fielder Jarrod Dyson teamed up with Mike Moustakas to throw out an Angels runner at third and Lorenzo Cain made several diving catches, among other moments, Royals right-hander James Shields gave high praise for his defense.
“These guys put on probably one of the best displays of defense in one series as I’ve seen,” Shields said Thursday before the Royals worked out at Camden Yards. “As a pitcher, that’s your best friend.
“I think we have one of the best defenses in the league.”
