Royals pitcher Kris Medlen to make next rehab start Monday for Class AAA Omaha
Royals right-hander Kris Medlen will make his next rehabilitation start for Class AAA Omaha on Monday afternoon against the Round Rock (Texas) Express. Medlen is slated to throw five innings with a 75-pitch limit.
The Royals are being cautious with Medlen as he recovers from his second Tommy John surgery. He already has made a pair of starts for Class AA Northwest Arkansas. He has given up eight runs, only five earned, in eight innings.
Medlen is expected to join the Royals after the All-Star break. He started his 30-day rehab assignment June 19.
The team has yet to determine a role for Medlen upon his return. He could aid the club either as a starter or a reliever.
