Sweet smell of Royals success? Johnson County commissioners wear perfume for luck

Johnson County commissioners dabbed women’s perfume behind their ears Thursday to bring good luck to the Royals.

The Avon perfume, handed out in tiny vials and labeled only with a strip of paper saying “Go Royals,” was inspired by catcher Salvador Perez’s and shortstop Alcides Escobar’s admissions during a television interview that they wear perfume for good luck.

Whatever it takes.
