The Kansas City Star and FOX4 TV teaming up on new ’4Star Politics’ digital program

The Kansas City Star and our local FOX4 television station are announcing a new partnership aimed at providing the most in-depth coverage and analysis of this year’s crucial elections.

We’re launching a web-based program called “4Star Politics.” Each week, FOX4 anchor John Holt and Star Editorial Board member Dave Helling will bring you interviews with newsmakers, analysts and reporters covering the most important 2020 races in Kansas and Missouri.

Holt and Helling have more than 50 years of combined experience covering Kansas City politics and regional government.

The digital program will be available each Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., starting June 24, on kansascity.com and fox4kc.com. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas is scheduled to join the show as our first guest. We’ll have much to talk about.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll focus on Kansas’ U.S. Senate race, local congressional campaigns, Missouri referenda on Medicaid and ethics reforms, statehouse races and more. We’ll ask the question you want answered — and viewers can hear those answers whenever they want.

In an election year unlike any other, when politicians may be limited in their ability to hit the campaign trail, “4Star Politics” will deliver compelling interviews, candidate debates and insights from Star and FOX4 journalists. We think it’s an important step in providing Missouri and Kansas voters with up-to-date information during an unsettled time.

We call it “4Star Politics,” and we invite you to join us.
