The Royals enjoyed a day off on Monday after an unsuccessful road trip. The club went 1-4 against the Yankees and the Cubs, getting swept at Yankee Stadium and splitting a pair at Wrigley Field. The club resides in second place in the American League Central, trailing the still-surging Twins.

And now they host the Indians, predicted by many to capture the division, who have bounced back after a putrid April. Cleveland went 17-12 in May to pull within two games of .500. They have won four of their last five. And they’ll roll out three strikeout mavens this week at Kauffman Stadium.

Here are the pitching matchups for this three-game series:

Tuesday, 7:10 p.m.: Jeremy Guthrie (4-3, 6.70 ERA) vs. Carlos Carrasco (6-4, 4.24 ERA).

Wednesday, 7:10 p.m.: Jason Vargas (3-2, 5.16 ERA) vs. Corey Kluber (3-5, 3.52 ERA).

Thursday, 7:10 p.m.: Chris Young (4-1, 1.55 ERA) vs. Trevor Bauer (4-2, 2.97 ERA).
