The Royals may not have to worry about general manager Dayton Moore departing for Atlanta. The Braves have offered their GM opening to John Hart, the current interim GM, according to a Yahoo Sports report.

Hart informed the Braves front office he needed time to think about the decision. Hart built Cleveland into a powerhouse in the 1990s and also ran the Rangers in the subsequent decade.

Moore, who spent more than a decade with Atlanta before coming to Kansas City in 2006, has not commented publicly on the opening. He joined the club here in Cleveland on Tuesday, but did not stop by the dugout before the game.

Owner David Glass told The Star on Monday he would not prevent Moore from interviewing with his former employer, despite the two years remaining on Moore’s contract.
