After Sunday night’s marathon at Comerica Park, the Royals could certainly use a day off. Instead they flew through the night to Texas for a four-game series with the Rangers.

Forgive me if this blog post is brief. I did not sleep, and am typing at the airport in Houston, in between flights.

Here are the pitching matchups for this series:

Monday, 7:05 p.m.: Danny Duffy (2-1, 4.55 ERA) vs. Colby Lewis (2-2, 2.61 ERA).

Tuesday, 7:05 p.m.: Edinson Volquez (2-3, 2.65 ERA) vs. Nick Martinez (2-0, 1.47 ERA).

Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.: Yordano Ventura (2-2, 5.13 ERA) vs. Yovani Gallardo (2-5, 4.19 ERA).

Thursday, 1:05 p.m.: Jeremy Guthrie (2-2, 5.70 ERA) vs. Ross Detwiler (0-4, 7.22 ERA).
