The one thing a pinch runner must avoid at all costs is getting picked off.

Unfortunately for the Royals’ Jarrod Dyson, he was caught too far off second base in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Tigers.

The result: Dyson was picked off and that helped quell a potential rally.
