Danny Duffy faces Twins as Royals head to Target Field

Danny Duffy and the Royals return to Target Field on Monday for the Twins’ home opener. Duffy has experienced a good deal of success against Minnesota in his limited dealings with the club.

Duffy carries a 2.09 ERA in 43 innings against the Twins. He is 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA in four outings at Target Field.

The Royals will miss Twins starter Phil Hughes during this three-game series. Here are the pitching matchups for the week:

Monday, 3:10 p.m.: LHP Danny Duffy (0-0, 9.00 ERA) vs. RHP Trevor May.

Wednesday, 7:10 p.m.: RHP Edinson Volquez (1-0, 1.13 ERA) vs. RHP Kyle Gibson (0-1, 14.73 ERA).

Thursday, 12:10 p.m.: LHP Jason Vargas (1-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. LHP Tommy Milone (1-0, 0.00 ERA).
