With all these reinforcements called up, the Royals lineup has become a daily puzzle. How will Ned Yost deploy his resources?

On Wednesday, he opted for the standard grouping he has used for most of the season. Josh Willingham crushed pitches during early batting practice, but he remained on the bench. Carlos Peguero flashed a powerful bat and a lively arm in his start on Monday, but he also rode the pine.

Instead, the regular unit returned to action.
