When the Royals are at Kauffman Stadium, Wednesday is ‘Winsday’
Royals fans wanting to see a win when they go to The K might want to focus more on the day of the week rather than who the opponent is or who’s pitching.
Ink, The Star’s free weekly entertainment publication, puts on a local music showcase every Wednesday in the Outfield Experience at Kauffman Stadium an hour before the game starts.
Since the shows started in 2011, the Royals are 29-17 at home on Wednesdays, a .630 winning percentage, but 157-154 overall at home, just a .505 winning percentage, and 304-318 overall, a .489 winning percentage.
As the Royals have gotten better, so has their record on Wednesdays at home.
Year | Wednesdays @ the K | Home | Overall |
2011 | 5-7 | 40-41 | 71-91 |
2012 | 8-5 | 37-44 | 72-90 |
2013 | 9-3 | 44-37 | 86-76 |
So far this season, the Royals are 76-61 overall, 37-32 at home and 7-2 at home on Wednesdays, with two more home games on Wednesdays to go.

We know correspondence isn’t correlation, but just in case the Royals make the playoffs and play at home on a Wednesday, Dayton Moore might want to head down to the RecordBar and commandeer a local band or two.
