After sitting out four games to rest his inflamed right shoulder, Royals second baseman Omar Infante returned to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Indians. Infante tested his arm by playing catch before the game.

“It feels better,” Infante said. “But I can’t throw hard, you know?”

Manager Ned Yost expects Infante to deal with the discomfort for an extended period of time.

“It’s not going to subside,” Yost said. “Forget it subsiding. He’s probably at about 80-percent right now, which is good enough to play. We’re trying to get him to a spot where he’s somewhere around 90 [percent]. This is something that’s going to be there. But it won’t affect him once he gets going.”
