Fox Sports says Royals’ walk-off win was No. 1 in prime time in KC
Regardless of how fans or Royals manger Ned Yost feel about the crowd for Tuesday’s win over the Twins, the TV ratings have been strong.
The Royals’ 2-1 walk-off win Tuesday was played before an announced crowd of 13,847 at Kauffman Stadium.
A lot of fans were watching at home.
Geoff Goldman, the director of media relations for Fox Sports Midwest and Fox Sports Kansas City, said in an email that Tuesday’s game on Fox Sports 1 drew a 7.1 rating, reaching 67,000 households. The peak numbers were 8.7 and 82,000. Tuesday’s game was No. 1 in prime time in Kansas City, he added.

Monday’s game on Fox Sports Kansas City drew a 7.3 rating (69,000 households) and peaked at a 10.0 rating (94,000 households). The game was No. 2 in prime time behind the Emmys.
Goldman said that for the season, Royals games on Fox Sports Kansas City have a 6.2 rating (58,000 households) and have been the No. 1 programming in prime time in Kansas City since March 31, which was opening day. That’s the sixth-best local ratings in all of baseball, Goldman said.
For August, games have an 8.2 rating (77,000 households).
Last year, the Royals averaged a 6.4 rating on Fox Sports Kansas City, which was a franchise record.
