Outfielder Brett Eibner stands out in win over Rangers
Royals minor-league outfielder Brett Eibner filled the stat sheet with a home run, a walk, and a stolen base after he entered Thursday’s 5-4 win over Texas in the sixth inning.
Eibner’s blast to left field was the Royals’ only extra base hit of the game and it shaved Texas’ lead to 4-3.
“Obviously the guys are taking what they’re getting and still working on stuff in spring training,” said Eibner, the Royals’ second-round pick in 2010 from the University of Arkansas. “I wasn’t trying to hit a home run … just get a pitch to hit and hit it hard somewhere.”
“It was a good day to have a come-from-behind win. It’s fun to see in a spring training game.”
