In honor of cable channel FXX broadcasting every episode of “The Simpsons” in order starting Thursday, it’s a good time to acknowledge some of the times when Kansas City has been the butt of the joke.

**The best place to begin is when Marge is perusing a used-book store:

**Comic-Book Guy gets into the fun with this:

**The Dead Homer Society web site had this exchange from the Dancin’ Homer episode in Season Two:

Marge Simpson: “You’d think the players’ wives would be a little closer to the action.”

Ex-Wife No. 1: “Actually this section is for the players’ ex-wives.”

Ex-Wife No. 2: “And then I found out that all the while there was this bimbo in Kansas City.”

Ex-Wife No. 1: “Throw at his head!”

**Former Star columnist Joe Posnanski recounted this gem on former Royals pitcher Zack Greinke on his blog from the “Moneybart” episode:

“Nerdy stat guy 1: As a pitcher Cliff Lee is CLEARLY superior to Zack Greinke.

Nerdy stat guy 2: Yes I completely agree with the following colossal exception: Before the fourth inning, after a road loss, in a domed stadium. Then it’s great to be Greinke!”

**And, here’s one from tvfanatic.com on the Chiefs, from the “Lisa The Greek” episode in which Lisa and Homer become, um, football buddies:

“Dad, I’m making the Chiefs my 5 star silver bullet special.”
