Alcides Escobar has made a statement, this time not with his glove or bat.

Escobar has been riding to the Royals spring training complex in a gold SUV.

As in gold glove.

Escobar doesn’t have one of those yet, but he has the shiniest ride in the parking lot.

“I saw one in Miami like it,” Escobar said. “I said, ‘I’ll do the same thing.’”

It’s not a paint job, but a wrap. According to exoticvehiclewraps.com, a vehicle wrap can cost between $500 and $5,000, which can be much less than a paint job. It also helps the vehicle’s resale value, says the site.

White is the SUV’s original color.

“I’ll keep it like this, maybe after the season I’ll go back,” Escobar said.
