The Royals remained indoors on Saturday afternoon as a morning filled with rain left their practice fields soaked. The forecast continues to call for sporadic bursts of rain through Monday, just as the team plans to play a pair of intrasquad games.

Unless Mother Natures scuttles their plans, the first game will take place on Sunday, with Jeremy Guthrie, Tim Collins, Brian Broderick, Buddy Baumann, John Lamb and Jandel Gustave. Manager Ned Yost moved the game up to earlier in the morning to avoid the oncoming weather.

“That’s a priority for us,” Yost said.

On Monday, Jason Vargas, Ryan Madson and Miguel Almonte are among the men on the mound. Aaron Brooks is expected to start Wednesday’s Cactus League opener against Texas.
