Alex Gordon took 20 to 30 swings off a tee on Friday morning and said he felt no discomfort in his surgically-repaired right wrist. Unless he experiences a setback over night, he plans to take part in soft-toss drills on Saturday.
“It’s pretty exciting, though,” Gordon said. “Honestly, it is.”
Gordon received clearance from the Royals medical staff on Monday to begin throwing and a hitting program. He started taking dry swings on Tuesday, graduated to hitting off the tee on Friday and now will take another step forward.
Gordon expects to miss a week of Cactus League game. He plans to be ready by Opening Day.
