Heat and humidity will pair up to keep Kansas City feeling muggy for the next few days, into at least early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

There will be chances for scattered rainfall Saturday afternoon and Sunday, but most of the forecast area is expected to stay dry, the weather service said. Non-severe storms are also in the forecast.

Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a high temperature near 92 degrees. The heat index will make it feel hotter out, around 98 degrees, the forecast shows.

Temperatures and the heat index are forecast to elevate throughout the weekend, with Sunday and Monday being the hottest days.

Sunday brings another slight chance of rain in the afternoon, mainly after 2 p.m. Then, the heat index could climb to as high as 101 degrees.

Monday is forecast to be sunny and hot with a high temperature near 97 degrees.

Relief from heat is anticipated by Wednesday and Thursday, when the high temperature is forecast to inch down into the mid-80s.
