After fog and scattered rain, Kansas City gears up for sunny holiday weekend
After some patchy morning fog and chances of rain on Saturday, Memorial Day weekend in Kansas City and the surrounding area is expected to have warm and drier conditions.
Showers and non-severe storms are possible mostly south and southeast of Kansas City, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
By afternoon, the storms will start to taper off, leading to calmer conditions throughout the rest of the weekend.
Saturday’s high temperature is expected to be around 77 degrees with some spotty cloud cover, before temperatures warm over the next couple of days.
Sunday’s forecast shows the storm system moving out of the area and birthing a sunny day with a high near 82 degrees. Calm afternoon winds are expected.
Then on Memorial Day, temperatures could climb to the mid-80s by afternoon, the forecast shows. The holiday is expected to be calm and sunny.
