On a day when love and affection is in the air, Kansas City’s forecast is a different vibe — overcast, rainy and slightly chilly.

But this Valentine’s Day, Kansas Citians shouldn’t let the weather put a damper in their plans. Perhaps rain can be romantic?

Cue that one scene from the 2004 romance flick, “The Notebook.”

Saturday, expect showers throughout the day and into the evening, the weather service forecast shows. The heaviest rain will fall south of Interstate 70, where more than an inch of rain will be possible in some spots.

Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 50s Saturday, with projected wind gusts around 18 miles per hour. A light jacket or overcoat may be the move for your Valentine’s Day plans this evening.

Rain continues into the night, when the overnight low will drop to around 44 degrees.

Then Sunday, the rain clouds clear out and temperatures rise. The high is forecast near 61 degrees Sunday.
