Sharp temperature drop & rain ahead for KC after unseasonably warm days
Dense fog and warm temperatures persist in Kansas City ahead of the weekend, but colder weather and rain is ahead, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures Friday will stay 25-30 degrees above normal for this time of year, with a high temperature near 65 degrees. Foggy conditions could impact drivers in the morning, but the fog is likely to quickly dissipate as a front moves in, meteorologists said in a weather discussion.
“Highs will range from the upper 50s north of Highway 36 to the lower 70s south of Highway 50,” the weather service said on social media.
Saturday is forecast to be even warmer, with a high temperature near 68 degrees.

Fog may develop again Saturday night, mostly north of Interstate 70, the weather service said.
Air moving quickly through the region is expected to drop temperatures 40 to 50 degrees between Saturday and Monday, according to a weather discussion.

Sunday’s high temperature is expected to be near 56 degrees. Chances of rain and snow are most likely before 3 p.m. and wind gusts could reach 33 mph, the forecast shows.
Breezy to windy conditions are expected Sunday night into Monday morning. Wind chill values could drop to the single digits and below zero by Monday morning.
