Fall temperatures near as Kansas City braces for storms to end the week

Warm weather continues to keep Kansas City in its grip Thursday, which will be a breezy day for most around the metro. Then Friday, a cold front will bring storm chances to the area, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast shows Thursday’s high temperature to be near 84 degrees. That is about 15 degrees above normal for this time of year, according to the weather service.

Heat will combine with plenty of wind Thursday. Wind gusts could reach as high as 21 miles per hour, according to the forecast.

Friday, there is a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Early rainfall predictions from the storms is between a quarter and half inch, according to the weather service.

The forecast shows about an 80% chance of rain Friday. Storms could produce gusty winds up to 60 miles per hour and quarter-size hail, a hazardous weather outlook said.

Fall temperatures in Kansas City

Warm temperatures will likely continue through Saturday. The high temperature is expected to be near 79 degrees, the forecast shows.

Kansas Citians can expect fall temperatures to arrive next week, starting on Sunday.

Sunday will be a sunny day with the high temperature forecast near 66 degrees. The low temperature Sunday night could drop near 52 degrees.

Monday is expected to warm up some, with a high near 76 degrees, but fall weather is expected to be in full effect next week.
